Welcome to the home page of the 2010 Bega Valley rally, to be conducted on Sunday 13th June.

The origins of the Bega Valley go back to the very early sixties, when it was variously known as the Snowy Rally and Southern Mountains Rally. In 1973 it was based at Bega and became the Bega Valley Rally. The Bega Valley represents the south coastal region of New South Wales, and is known as the ‘Sapphire Coast’.

A feature of the event being based at Bega in recent years has been use of the smooth shire roads close to the town for special stages. These were then supplemented by the long travel to and from further special stages in the forests near Eden, there being no suitable forests near Bega itself.

However, community development has now reached a stage where it is not possible to use the shire roads, and the event has to be conducted fully within the forestry areas, which contain many roads which are of similar standard to the shire roads but more exciting to drive.

Hence, for the Bega Valley Rally in 2010,

The Tradition Continues …

… at Eden

The Bega Valley Rally 2010 will be national, non-paced noted special stage rally, conducted in the forests to the west, south-west and south of Eden, where the event will now be based. It will be:

  • Round 3 – 2010 New South Wales Rally Championship
  • Round 3 – 2010 New South Wales 2WD Rally Championship
  • Round 2 – 2010 Victorian Rally Championship
  • Round 2 – 2010 Victorian 2WD Rally Championship
  • Round 2 – 2010 Victorian Hyundai Excel Series

It will not be a round of the ACT Regional Series this year, not having been listed on that crowded calendar.
