NOTICE OF CLOSURE OF STATE FOREST ROADS
FOR CAR RALLY on Sunday 13 June
The Bega Valley Rally, a round of the New South Wales and Victorian Rally Championships, will be based in Eden over the long weekend. A high speed car rally conducted over closed forestry roads, the event will use adjacent state forests roads on Sunday 13 June, with the permission of Forests NSW.
Roads are closed to public use and the public is advised not to visit forests:
- south of the South East Forests National Park and the Victorian border
- east of (and including) Falkner Road north of Imlay Road
- east of Wallagaraugh River south of Imlay Road
Hours: 0645 to 2000
Advance warning signs have been placed throughout the forest areas to be used.
On Friday 11 and Saturday 12 June the rally organisers will be travelling over roads in the above forests setting up the rally logistics and anyone using the roads should do so with great care.
On Monday 14 June the rally organisers officials will be travelling over roads clearing away signs.
TRAIL BIKE RIDERS in particular are advised to avoid using the forests. Note: the Broadwater Road will not be used this year.
The Bega Valley Rally will start from the Snug Cove Wharf, with cars leaving between 0900 and 1030 (assembling from 0815). The first car is due back in Eden at 1700.
The Rally Headquarters will be based at the Eden Fishermen’s Club over the weekend.
