SPECTATOR INSTRUCTIONS
Spectator instructions will be posted on this site, and will be available, at no charge, from the event headquarters in Eden from Friday 8 June. Spectating is rather limited with the configuration of the course, with most of the action conducted well off the main roads and with no easy access.
SERVICE AREAS
There will be two service areas in 2012, providing a hive of activity throughout the entire day.
- Edrom Road Service Park (approx 20km south of Eden off the Princes Highway). Crews will visit here twice for servicing and refuelling, Catering will be provided by the Kiah Community Hall. Portable toilets will be available at the park and public toilets are located 1.5km south of the service park, on both sides of the highway.
- Genoa Wayside Stop (approx 60km south of Eden off the Princes Highway). Crews will visit here the once for servicing and refuelling. No catering will be provided. Toilets will be available.
SPECTATOR VIEWING AREAS
Four spectator viewing areas will be available, three within 13 kilometres of the Edrom Road Service Park. These viewing areas will allow service crews to ‘pop out’ to see their crew in action and be back at the service area prior to the arrival of the competition car.
START
Breakfast or just coffee/tea and a biscuit/cake will be available from the Snug Cove Wharf cafes, from 0700, and the first car will leave at 0700, with remaining cars departing at two minute intervals. There will be plenty of time to be at the start (a great opportunity to meet with the crews in an atmosphere of camaraderie), photograph the cars with a picturesque harbour backdrop, and then to travel to the service area before your car is due there.
FINISH OF EVENT
The finish of the event will be at the Eden Fishermen’s Club car park. The first car is due here at 1530.
PRESENTATION
The presentation of the outright awards will be held at the Fishermen’s Club, commencing approx. 2030. Catering will be available from 1830.
